US stainless flats surcharges will drop in July alongside lower chrome costs, according to raw material levies published by domestic mills Monday.
ATI Allegheny Ludlum, AK Steel, North American Stainless and Outokumpu Coils America published cold-rolled sheet surcharges for July with Types 304 and 316 stainless at 43.23-43.26 cents/lb and 56.85-56.90 cents/lb, respectively.
Type 304 stainless is down from 54-54.03 cents/lb in June, while Type 316 is down from 69.21-69.37 cents/lb.
July's surcharge for Type 430 stainless sheet was set at 22.82 cents/lb, down from 31.27 cents/lb.
