Brazilian exports of semi-finished steel in April shrank 19.6% on the year to 483,500 mt, Ministry of Development and Trade data showed Wednesday.
Revenue from these goods jumped 39.9% to $213.2 million FOB. In April 2016, exports totaled 601,200 mt and revenue was $152.4 million FOB.
The average price of Brazil's semis exports in April rose 73.9% on the year to $441/mt FOB. In the year-ago month, it was $253.5/mt.
Brazil's exports of flat-rolled steel in April fell 28.7% on the year to 188,200 mt. Revenue grew 4.3% from a year ago to $123.4 million on an FOB basis.
April 2016 exports totaled 264,200 mt and revenue was $118.3 million FOB.
