Mexico's Ministry of Economy has renewed an antidumping duty of 29.3% imposed on imports of steel plate form Russia for another five years, the ministry said Tuesday in the country's official gazette.
The product subject to the duty is hot-rolled plate with width greater than or equal to 600 mm and thickness equal to or greater than 4.75 mm, but not exceeding 10 mm. It has boron content equal to or greater than 0.0008% originating in Russia, regardless of the country of origin, and is identified under HS codes 7208.10.02, 7208.25.99, 7208.37.01 and 7225.30.03.
Mexican steelmakers Ternium and Ahmsa were the petitioners for the review.
In 1996, the country's economic ministry first imposed a definitive antidumping duty of 29.3%. The duty remained in place following five-year reviews in 2003, 2007 and 2011.
