The Abbot Point Coal Terminal in North Queensland, Australia, is due to receive its first coal train on Thursday afternoon, Australian time, since it closed due to Cyclone Debbie in late March, a spokesman for terminal owner Adani told S&P Global Platts on Thursday.

The first train, which comes via the Newlands line, will arrive at 16:00 AEST, he said.

It will take until next Thursday for APCT to recover to full capacity, the spokesman added.

The Port of Abbot Point was closed on March 28 in preparation for the cyclone.

APCT has a shipment capacity of 50 million mt/year. In March, it shipped 2.46 million mt, which was down 11% year on year, North Queensland Bulk Ports data showed.
