Petrochemicals producer Ineos Olefins & Polymers USA restarted the No 2 steam cracker at its Chocolate Bayou olefins plant in Alvin, Texas, last weekend after unscheduled maintenance, sources said Wednesday.
The unplanned outage at the 900,000 mt/year unit, which resulted from a turbine issue, started on March 17, sources said.
A company spokesman could not be reached comment Wednesday.
Spot US ethylene for April deliveries was assessed Wednesday at 29.25-29.75 cents/lb ($645-$656/mt) FD USG, up 0.125 cents/lb compared with Tuesday.
