There was a process upset Tuesday at Total Petrochemicals and Refining USA's 1,224,700 mt/year polypropylene plant in La Porte, Texas, the company said in a regulatory filing Wednesday.
The plant's Train 9 production unit flared on Tuesday for about three hours, according to the filing to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
A company spokesman could not be reached for comment.
The La Porte site is the largest polypropylene facility in the world.
In spot markets, homopolymer injection-grade was assessed Wednesday at $1,317-$1,339/mt (59.75-60.75 cents/lb) FAS Houston.
