European caustic soda stocks were 200,623 mt in January, down 17.6% on the year, trade association Euro Chlor reported Wednesday.
Caustic soda prices were assessed at $390/mt FOB NWE Tuesday, up $10 on the week because of the March maintenance season.
In January, European chlorine production rose 2.4% on the year to 841,277 mt, the association added.
Capacity utilization in January was 83.9% compared with 81.9% a year earlier, Euro Chlor said.
