More bids for 2017 Seasonal NOx allowances have been heard in the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule market, which has tightened the spread with offers, sources said this week.
A broker reported a $450/st at $500/st bid-offer range Thursday for Seasonal NOx allowances. Another market player said he heard bids this week top out in the $430/st to $440/st range up from $400/st last week. However, no Seasonal NOx trades were heard this week despite the increased interest to buy.
S&P Global Platts on Thursday assessed 2017 Seasonal NOx allowances at $455/st, up $5 from last week, based on a $450/st bid and broker marks.
For the second straight week Annual NOx trades of less than 100 st were heard to meet compliance deadlines. Sources noted that pricing has not been affected by the few small-volume transactions.
Platts assessed Annual NOx allowances at $5.50/st, unchanged from last week, based on broker marks.
No interest was heard for SO2 allowances this week. Platts assessed Group 1 SO2 allowances at $2.50/st and Group 2 SO2 allowances at $3.25/st, both unchanged, based on broker marks.
