ExxonMobil Chemicals has begun a planned 30-day turnaround at its steam cracker in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, market sources said Friday.
The maintenance work on the 988,000 mt/year cracker began Tuesday, the sources said.
A company spokesman could not be reached for comment.
In spot markets Friday, ethylene was heard traded at 34.75 cents/lb for February deliveries and at 34.5 cents/lb for January.
S&P Global Platts assessed ethylene Friday at 34.25-34.75 cents/lb FD USG for prompt-month deliveries and at 34.5-35 cents/lb FD USG for forward-month deliveries.
