European Union imports of methanol for November 2016 stood at 519,986.1 mt, a fall of 108,922 mt compared with November 2015, Eurostat data showed Monday.
However, overall imports for the first 11 months of the year increased marginally to 6,375,731.6 mt for 2016, up 68,719.8 mt overall to a monthly average of 579,611.96 mt.
Exports dropped month on month to 6,388 mt for November 2016 slightly lower than November 2015 levels of 6,844.7 mt. This followed an October 2016 export surge in which 27,708.3 mt of product left the EU -- in October 2015 exports stood at a modest 6,283.1 mt.
Exports overall were still over a third higher for the first 11 months of 2016 at 137,000.1 mt, compared with 99.072.7 mt in the same period in 2015. This meant there was an average of 3,447.94 mt of extra methanol exports per month in 2016 than in 2015, over the same period.
