China imported 365,412mt of LPG in July, a rise of 49% from the previous month, data from the General Administration of Customs showed.
Chinese importers hiked LPG imports in July because of domestic supply shortfall amid extensive turnarounds of major refineries, market sources said.
Drops in international LPG prices and contango expectations also spurred buying interest of the importers, the sources added.
China's LPG exports in July rose by 61% on month to 118,028mt, the GAC data also showed.
The increase was mainly due to decent export margins and turnaround of a refinery in major receiver Vietnam, market sources said.
