The London Metal Exchange will accept no further warrant deliveries of Alouette branded aluminum ingots from April 10, with warrants under this brand canceled on or after that date unable to be placed back on warrant, the exchange said in a notice.
The LME said this change in delivery rules for Alouette-branded aluminum applied only to ingots, with Alouette sows remaining listed and deliverable on the exchange's warehousing network.
According to two traders, Alouette has not produced primary aluminum ingots for at least the past year. One trader said that as Alouette no longer made ingots, there would be no more fresh production that could be placed on warrant.
Sources said there was no quality implication for the de-listing of Alouette ingots.
