US ethylene margins using ethane and E/P mix as feedstocks rose slightly for the week ending Aug. 19, up roughly 1.25 cents/lb for both at 30.58 cents/lb and 33.78 cents/lb, respectively.
Cracker margins using propane as feedstock held relatively steady, just below 22 cents/lb. Light naphtha, meanwhile, dropped for a second consecutive week, down roughly 9.50 cents/lb week on week at 14.13 cents/lb.
Spot ethylene gained 1.50 cents/lb week on week, assessed Friday on either side of 62.625 cents/lb.
Purity ethane closed the week assessed on either side of 70.50 cents/gallon, down .50 cents week on week.
The cracker margin estimates use the current spot price and yields of the various cracker products from cracking various light and heavy feedstocks.
On Monday, spot ethylene was talked in a range of 60-63 cents/lb for August delivery.
