Sinopec Changling Petrochemical has recently put its 1.7-mil-mt/yr (or 34-kbd) residue hydrotreating unit into operation, a source with the refinery said.
This will boost crude throughput of the refinery by 20,000mt or 30% daily, according to the source.
Changling Petrochemical plans to process 520,000mt of crude in August, and it will raise the amount to 600,000-620,000mt in September, the source added.
Sited in Yueyang City of Central China's Hunan Province, Changling Petrochemical is running an 8-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit currently. It kept an aged 3.5-mil-mt/yr CDU idle since October 2010. It mainly processes Shengli crude.
