The Mexican crude-loading and petrochemicals port of Pajaritos was closed Thursday for a second straight day, but the refined products port of Tuxpan reopened to shipping as conditions improved further north on Mexico's Gulf Coast, according to the Ministry of Communications and Transportation.
Winds of 50 kph were whipping up 10-foot waves at Pajaritos, the ministry said.
The port's website reported that one tanker, laden with crude and headed for Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was unable to leave port until conditions clear.
All other Mexican oil and petrochemicals ports were operating normally early Thursday.
