Seasonal NOx allowances weakened again in the US Cross-State Air Pollution Rule market this week, as deals continued to push down pricing.
Brokers reported Seasonal NOx trades at the start of the week at $260/st then lower deals Wednesday at $250/st. A source heard a $230/st at $260/st bid-offer range Thursday, and another market player heard a range as low as $190/st at $240/st.
"Everything out there is lower, and that's something we don't expect to change," one broker noted.
S&P Global Platts on Thursday assessed 2016 Seasonal NOx allowances at $245/st, down $25 from last week, based on broker marks.
Seasonal NOx allowances, which climbed to a high of $375/st in mid-September, have dropped $50, or 17%, in two weeks.
The rest of the CSAPR market was mostly quiet this week, sources said, keeping other allowance prices unchanged. One source did note a $6/st bid against a $9/st offer on Thursday for Annual NOx allowances.
Platts assessed Annual NOx allowances at $7, Group 1 SO2 allowances at $1.75/st and Group 2 SO2 allowances at $3.50/st, all based on broker marks.
