The European polypropylene market is tight in high melt-flow PP and copolymer despite remaining well balanced in normal grades, industry sources said Monday.
One producer Monday afternoon reported shortages in copol, adding that they had received inquiries from a trader who was having difficulty in sourcing product, while another producer last week also saw tightness which they said may be linked to maintenance in Eastern Europe.
Shortness was also reported by a producer in high melt-flow PP, who said the tightness could continue through to Q2 2017.
Another producer saw the market as "very short" in some extremely high melt-flow grades, described as those with a melt flow of 100 and above.
