The US exported 77.846 million gallons of ethanol in August, up 12.3%, or 8.551 million gallons, from July, US Census data showed Wednesday.
August's total is the highest volume exported from the US since April, when 95.512 million gallons were sent abroad.
The figure is 56% higher than the same month last year, when companies shipped 50.034 million gallons.
Through August, 589.827 million gallons have been exported from the US compared with 564.362 million gallons in the same period of 2015.
Brazil, Canada and India were the top destinations, taking 25.065 million gallons, 20.876 million gallons and 14.028 million gallons, respectively.
