Pemex's ethylene production totaled 68,513 mt in August, down 3% from July, the Mexican state company said Thursday, and its fourth-highest monthly total this year.
Production fell 15% compared with August 2015, when the company's ethylene output totaled 80,842, it said.
Pemex uses the majority of its monomer output for the production of downstream derivatives, including polyethylene grades.
Pemex's propylene output totaled 1,093 mt in August, up 3% from July, it said. The company's output fell 5.5% compared with August 2015, when production totaled 1,157 mt.
Pemex uses the majority of its production of the monomer for downstream derivatives, including the production of acrylonitrile.
