Iran produced 23 million mt of various petrochemicals during the period March 21-September 5, up 7% year on year, the Oil Ministry run Shana news agency reported Monday.
The Persian calendar year starts March 21.
The figure is a combined output of 47 petrochemical facilities in the country, the agency quoted Ali Mohammad Bosaqzadeh, director of National Petrochemical Company as saying. NPC acts as a regulatory body for all petrochemical companies in Iran.
As many as 29 petrochemical companies raised their production during the period, Bosaqzadeh was quoted as saying.
Iran exported 8.7 million mt of petrochemicals worth $3.6 billion during the first five months of the Persian calendar year, Shana said in a separate report Sunday.
