Chile produced 885.8 mt of silver during the first seven months of the year, up 1.6% from the same period last year, government figures showed Friday.
Chile is the world's fifth largest producer of the precious metal, behind Peru, Mexico, the US and Australia, mostly as a by-product in the country's many copper mines.
Production has risen sharply with the ramp-up of Codelco's Ministro Hales copper mine from 2013, to around 1,500 mt/year.
Meanwhile, Chile produced 23.3 mt of gold between January and July this year, little changed from the same period of 2015.
Chilean gold production fell 7.4% last year to 40.8 mt.
