US ethanol exports in July rose 22.91 million gallons, or 49.39%, to 69.294 million gallons compare with June, Census Bureau data Tuesday showed.
Canada was the biggest importer of US ethanol in July, bringing in 19.925 million gallons. Brazil was second with 15.17 million gallons, while the Philippines was third at 10.28 million gallons.
July was the second consecutive month that China did not import any US ethanol. So far in 2016, China is the US' top customer for ethanol, purchasing 129.28 million gallons. China's purchases in the first half of 2016 have already exceeded its 2015 total purchases by nearly 50 million gallons.
So far in 2016, Canada is the No. 2 buyer of US ethanol at 109.85 million gallons. Brazil is No. 3 at 97.7 million gallons. India and the Philippines round out the top five.
Total US ethanol exports through July are 493.85 million gallons.
