Operating rate of minor refineries in South China's Guangdong Province was 24% on average Thursday, down by 3 percentage points from a week ago while up by 1 percentage point compared with a year earlier, C1's research found.
The rate went down amid bearish expectations on the domestic oil product prices, market sources said.
Up until Aug 11, seven minor refineries were in operation and their feedstock throughput totaled 9,850mt per day, down by 1,200mt on week.
Guangdong has 19 minor refineries, all of which are involved in C1's research. These refineries have a total refining capacity of 15.15-mil mt per year.
