Entergy's 728 MW Pilgrim nuclear unit in Plymouth, Massachusetts, was operating at 98% Friday after returning to service Thursday following maintenance, according to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission's daily reactor status report.
Pilgrim was shut Sunday to repair a main steam isolation valve, plant spokesman Patrick O'Brien said. While the reactor was down, "we took the opportunity to perform additional planned maintenance that we cannot otherwise perform while the unit is online," he said. The unit was at 30% power Thursday morning, NRC said.
