Pemex's ethylene production totaled 70,870 mt in July, up 15% from June, the Mexican state company said Thursday, its third-highest monthly total this year.
Production fell 11.6% from July 2015, when production totaled 80,189.
Pemex uses the majority of its monomer output for the production of downstream derivatives, including polyethylene grades.
Pemex's propylene output totaled 1,064 mt in July, down 4% from June, it said. It was its lowest monthly total this year, down 29% from January.
Production fell 5.3% from July 2015, when production totaled 1,124.
Pemex uses the majority of its monomer for downstream derivatives, including the production of acrylonitrile.
