Formosa Plastics Corporation USA announced a $65/st increase for the August liquid caustic soda contract price, effective immediately or as contract terms permit, the company said in a letter sent to their customers Wednesday.
According to the petrochemical producer, the price increase reflects the current tightened supply and low inventories.
The company also said that the 100% order control program remains enforced.
Formosa follows other US caustic soda producers that have posted price increases for August contracts ranging $35-65/st.
Wednesday, the US caustic soda the 3- to 30- day price assessment was at $420/mt FOB USG.
