A trade for Seasonal NOx allowances, plus more and higher bids, gave another boost to pricing this week in the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule market.
A source reported a $265/st trade for Seasonal NOx allowances this week at a volume of about 500 st, which helped to strengthen the bid-offer range Thursday by $5 on each side to $245/st-$280/st.
The source added that more buyers are now coming into the market to cover elevated July emissions.
Last week, brokers reported multiple Seasonal NOx deals at $250/st.
S&P Global Platts on Thursday assessed Seasonal NOx allowances at $265/st, up $15 from last week, based on the week's deal.
Seasonal NOx pricing has gained 36%, or $70, since August 3. Pricing had fallen to $195/st in July from a year-high $280/st in early April as interest waned.
No interest was heard this week for the other three CSAPR allowances, keeping prices unchanged.
Platts assessed Annual NOx allowances at $8/st, Group 1 SO2 allowances at $1.75/st and Group 2 SO2 allowances at $3.50/st, based on broker marks.
