Chile's gas-fired power generation fell to 1,025 GWh in May, down 25.9% from a year earlier, data released by the energy ministry Tuesday showed.
The production was almost flat from April, however.

Gas-fired plants on Chile's SIC grid generated 907 GWh of electricity in May, down from 1,224 GWh in May 2015.
In northern Chile, gas-fired plants generated 117 GWh in May, down from 158 GWh a year ago, as power from coal and diesel rose.
Chile imports approximately 99% of the gas it consumes as LNG, mostly from Trinidad and Tobago and Equatorial Guinea.
