China's gasoil apparent consumption in the first six months of the year reached 83.08-mil mt, up by 11.98% from the same period last year, the data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed.
The steady growth in economy in the first six months propped up gasoil consumption in the domestic market, some market sources said. In the meantime, domestic producers stepped up gasoil production amid price hike expectations as international crude prices hovered at a high level, the sources added.
The total gasoil exports in January-June dropped by 63.27% year on year to 11.2-mil mt, showed the NBS data.
The Chinese government cut oil product export quotas for the second quarter of this year for the fear of supply shortage in the domestic market, the sources remarked.
