Brazilian sugar industry association UNICA will change its official publication schedule for sugar and ethanol production from Center-South Brazil, a UNICA spokeswoman said Tuesday.
The sugar and ethanol industry considers UNICA the official source for data related to production, including cane crush, sugar and ethanol production, total recoverable sugar (ATR), and sugar mix.
UNICA formerly released numbers from the first and second half of each month a few days after the closing period. Market participants were expecting to see the production numbers from CS Brazil for the second half of April published between Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to UNICA, the official production data for the second half of April will be released on May 16.
The spokeswoman said UNICA has decided to follow the same publication schedule as the Ministry of Agriculture.
"Sugar and ethanol production from Center-South Brazil will be released every 15th or 30th of each calendar month unless that day is not a business day, in which case the publication will rolls over on the next business day," she said.
