Indian state-run Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) produced 4.4 million mt of coal in April, up 2.7% on year but below its target for the month of 4.94 million mt, according to the latest data released by the company.
SCCL, jointly owned by the government of Telangana and the central government on a 51:49 equity basis, is the second largest coal producer in India.
Its output target is 66.06 million mt for the current fiscal year.
The company produced around 60.38 million mt of coal in the last fiscal year that ended March 31, and is aiming to raise annual production to around 80 million mt by 2020.
