Founded in 1998, ChengduWagott Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. obtained Drug-production Enterprise License in2002 with normal production and operations beginning. In 2003, we passed theGMP certification by SFDA, and became the first plant extract manufacturer withGMP certification in China.

Sichuan State-owned AssetsOperation and Investment Administrator Co., Ltd. became a shareholder (28.44%)of Wagott in 2002, and became the first majority shareholder (42.5091%) in 2006and the controlling shareholder (71.14%) in 2009. In the past ten years,Sichuan State-owned Assets Operation and Investment Administrator Co., Ltd.offered significant support to Wagott in financial support, managementstandards and talent motivation especially after being a majority shareholder,to help Wagott grow constantly. By the end of 2010, our registered fundsincreased from CNY 5 million at initial establishment to current CNY 108million. Our total assets now topped CNY 206.52 million and the cumulativeforeign exchange earnings through export totaled USD 50 million with taxes overCNY 30 million and profits over ten millions.

RA is the abbreviation ofRebaudioside-A, which is a natural glucoside extract from the leaves of naturalstevia through separation. Its sweetness is 300 times that of the saccharose,so RA is the best tasting high-power natural sweetener. With source area inSouth America, stevioside was introduced to China in the 1970s. Nowadays, 70%of the stevia is produced in Shandong, Anhui, Northeast and Northwest in China.Since its taste is similar to that of saccharose and pure sweetness,Rebaudioside-A is increasingly popular with the food enterprises and consumers.It is recognized as a new generation of sugar source and is accepted as the4th-generation sugar substitutes. Premier Wen Jiabao appointed that steviaindustry is a new-tech, a new revolution and a national industry during hisvisit to a planting base in Xiaogang Village in Anhui subordinated to GLG inCanada in August 2009. According to the forecast by Stevia World, an authoritative industrial magazine, the steviosideindustry in the whole world with RA as a representative will replace 2% of themarket shares of saccharose in 2005 (According to relevant data, the globaltotal market of saccharose in 2011 is 167.000 ton), and the market expectationswill top USD 5 billion with over 20% increase each year. Compared withtraditional saccharose, stevioside enjoys higher economic benefits in additionto higher sweetness. For planting of raw materials, the average yield per mu of sugarcane is 4.5 ton withsaccharose output being nearly 0.5 ton. Under this circumstances, the netincome per mu of farmers is CNY1600~2000. The average yield per mu of stevia is nearly 400 kg with output of Rebaudioside-A being nearly 10 kg.However, since the sweetness of Rebaudioside-A is 300 times that of saccharose,the sweetness of 10 kg Rebaudioside-A is identical to that of 3 ton saccharoseand the yield per mu of Rebaudioside-A is 6 times that of saccharose, so thenet income per mu of farmers isexpected to exceed CNY 3000, meaning huge economic and social benefits.Currently, more than 30 countries and regions have approved on the applicationof stevioside as food additives, including China, Japan, France and Brazil. FDAhas approved GRAS concerning Rebaudioside-A on December, 2008. In addition,SCFA has approved the suggestion to support EU in authorizing stevioside on theconference on July 4, 2011.
